Life Testimony

Sr. Pastor Ashok  Karkera is the founder of the Glorious Gospel Mission Ministries. Married to Dr.Regina Karkera with two God fearing children Dr. Angel Evangeline and Br. Plenty Joses.
 

Born on March 20, 1966 in a very strong religious Hindu temple priest family, in Mangalore, South India. He had a very tough life being on his own at very young age. He sought God with all his heart to know if there was really a God and if He was why there was pain and suffering in his life. In his search for truth he visited several temples, mosques and catholic churches.
 

Unable to find any answers, on December 20, 1988, Pastor Ashok Karkera decided to harden himself against all gods and gave up all hope to live. As a daily ritual one day when he was cleaning his Hindu god idol made of mud, which slipped out of his hand and fell on floor and was broken to pieces. Suddenly the reality of ‘can god breaking into pieces hit him very deeply result of which he began to live life without hope and faith, and became fully discouraged.

One day Pastor Ashok Karkera was introduced to Lord Jesus Christ by a brother whom he knew. He gifted him with the Holy Bible but in return Pastor Ashok Karkera gave him Bhagwat Gita (Hindu religious book) saying to him and if he would read Bhagwat Gita, then only will read the Holy Bible. 

Later, that year Pastor Ashok Karkera was  invited to a very unusual Christmas party, the party did not have any wine,   no decorations, no loud music as he had seen before rather there were people worshipping and praying to an unseen God.
 

The preacher gave altar call saying, “if you are looking for religion don’t   be bothered but if you need The One True God come forward.”  In order to find out who is this True God,  Pastor Ashok Karkera responded to the preacher’s call and he experienced a sudden   wave of Divine Peace and hope that flooded his heart. For the first time in   his life he felt that he did meet with the One True God his Creator. 

After this incident, things started happening in him supernaturally. There arose an unquenchable   thirst in him to spend hours together pouring over the life-transforming   pages of eternal Truth – The Bible, discovering secrets that could   revolutionize human life. He spent hours talking to God and sought Him with all his heart.

The High Calling

Immediately after   receiving Lord Jesus Christ he began to preach the gospel for he experienced   a great thirst in his soul to save others from hell!

Where his ministry   started from preaching on streets and trains, On September 20, 1994, Lord   Jesus called him to arrange an open-air healing and gospel prayer at Vasai.   This was the first time ever when an open-air meeting was going to be   arranged here. There was no support from the locals as they feared the groups   protesting and threatening Christians. The handbills were distributed and   dates declared.
 

There was absolutely no money available for arrangements until the night prior to prayer. Sr. Pastor Ashok Karkera and Sister Regina Karkera prayed to the Lord persistently that night for God to show up and that His power shall work in this Divine Healing Prayer Meeting.

After being alone and without support,  that midday a man came forward and said that he would like to provide for the physical arrangements for two days prayer, another person came and paid for the sound system and another took his rickshaw and announced about the meeting all over the Vasai(all over County) and surrounding areas, a brother painted a huge banner with title, ‘The blind sees, the lame walks and deaf hears’.

The prayer venue was surprisingly fully packed without room for more. There have been repeated threatening and radical oppositions by the Hindu fanatics to us and people for not to attend Divine Healing Prayer.

For full two days people experienced supernatural mighty power of healing and deliverance from The Lord Jesus Christ. People were healed from birth diseases and all type of terrible sicknesses. Remarkable testimonies took place, a born mute girl now of age 15 years spoke instantly. A women with leg condition and was scheduled for amputation surgery the next day was healed and began to jump and run on her legs. People were weeping and giving their lives to Christ all over the place. Remarkably the meeting saw 2000 attendees on each day.
 

  And, Lord gave His Divine commission to Pastor Ashok Karkera and Pastor Regina Karkera saying that He has made their lives a continual blessing to countless  He will use them all over the world.

And since that day it has never stopped!  Lord Jesus has been using Pastor Ashok and Sister Regina Karkera in all different states of India and in countries like United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and Japan to be a blessing for many countless for those who are seeking for The One True God!
